Nearly 200 TICF Flowers of Hope for a cure to the Alzheimer’s Disease

The primary colors at the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s are orange, blue, yellow, purple, and white. Participants wear shirts and carry flowers in these colors to signify their relationship to the disease. Then plant the flowers at the end of the walk, in a Promise Garden, the promise being the eradication of Alzheimer’s.

“Let it be clear, Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging.  It’s not forgetting where you put your car, or what you were supposed to do this afternoon.  Alzheimer’s is about forgetting what a car is or what it is used for.”

Jennifer Bowring, VP of Development for The Alzheimer's Association, Dallas and NE Texas Chapter.

This year at the Dallas-area walk on Saturday, October 23, 2021, Toyota Industries Commercial Finance (TICF) Associates joined the walk to raise awareness of the devastating disease—which is the leading cause of death for one in six people in the United States—and funds for a cure. Nearly 200 Associates and members of their families walked in person and joined the event virtually.

The walk is the culmination of a six-month educational series at the company to inform Associates and their families about the disease, risk factors, and available support.

“It was tremendous to see so many of our associates wearing their TICF-branded orange shirts in unison at today’s walk,” said Troy Graziani, Credit and Customer Experience Director. “We are proud to support the great work done by the Alzheimer’s Association and their staff in their tireless fight of this disease.”

TICF is here for North Texas, the Alzheimer’s Association, and for each other. We’re all in this together. #WhyWeWalk #EndAlz #Contribute2Society
