The student story:  Meet TICF Intern Alicia

Hello. My name is Alicia St. Denis, and I am delighted to have the honor to learn and be a part of the Toyota Industries Commercial Finance (TICF) virtual internship program this summer.

I am currently a senior attending Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU), located in Portales N.M., and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.

Throughout my time at ENMU, I have worked alongside the communications department and advanced my skills in marketing, public relations, and the world of digital analytics. These experiences gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities outside the university and look towards the corporate world.

Being a military spouse based in a small town, marketing internship opportunities can be limited. The flexibility of TICF’s virtual summer internship allowed me to broaden my horizons and apply for a position outside of New Mexico.

Virtually tuning in as the Marketing Intern on my first day, I felt confident and prepared because I had all my equipment and remained in frequent contact with my manager before the internship officially started.  From the beginning, it became evident that my success during the internship and future endeavors is my manager’s top priority.

Within the first two weeks, I became completely immersed in the TICF culture by attending TICF’s annual sales meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. Preparing for the meeting, I was able to be hands-on by assisting in the creation of three days of PowerPoint presentation materials. Being able to participate, observe the brainstorming of different strategic sales action plans and ideas, and officially meet many of my new TICF colleagues in person made it an unforgettable, career-building experience.

I am excited to continue to learn from the TICF family this summer, expand my knowledge, and grow my professional skill set.
